Why it exists
To document the often unseen clinical and non-clinical decisions pharmacists make every day — decisions that shape care, access, safety, and outcomes.

These moments, both clinical and non-clinical, form the full scope of pharmacy practice — work that is essential, continuous, and often unseen.
Yet many of these contributions are never formally documented in a way that captures their depth, context, and impact. They happen quietly, in real time, and are often carried forward only in the memory of the pharmacist.
Behind The Counter exists to change that.
What the platform does
Pharmacists submit brief notes — however incomplete or unstructured — describing a moment that stood out in practice.
Those notes are shaped into clear, professional narratives that preserve the contributor’s intent while removing identifying details.
Contributors review and confirm each story before it enters editorial review and publication to the archive.
The result is a growing archive of authentic, anonymized stories that reflect the real-world impact of pharmacy practice.
Why it matters
The initiative was developed in response to an observed gap in how pharmacy impact is captured, communicated and understood - demonstrating our broader approach to identifying unmet needs, designing practical solutions and advancing innovation within heaalthcare systems.
